Thakral was born in Rajasthan, India. One of her parents is a Catholic Christian and the other, a Punjabi. She started modeling in her early teens. Thakral first came into the limelight after participation in Gladrags Model Hunt, where she became one of the top 5 finalists and won the titles of Miss Best Body and Miss Potential.
