Banerjee's family hails from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. But Banerjee was born and brought up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Banerjee's father is an engineer and was also into singing, and her mother is a homemaker. She had lived in the Middle East for a brief period. Banerjee did her schooling and university in Canada. She was declared Miss Photogenic at the Miss World Canada in 2011. She has been a model and TV show host. She has also been trained in Kathak and Rabindra Sangeet (classical music) and performed in shows in Canada. She finished her degree in international marketing and computer science in 2012.
